News from Seibersdorf

Hi to all of you. Since long time I have not been posting news from The Laboratory Seibersdorf. The following lines are especially for our former fellows who attended the GFT at my Laboratory.

As we are coming to the end of the GFT 2011/12 I would like to inform you that this year we have introduced the Arduino UNO board quite succesfully. We have used this platform during the week of interfacing various sensors. We tried two options, one writing the programs in BASCOM and programming it via the ISP interface. the second option using the Arduino software and platform together with the boot-loader option. From experience it was more easy for our participants to use the Arduino platform although they had to learn C-programming.
The electronic group has now a lot of new members as all staff exept me left during the last year. I myself will retire by end of August, but will keep in contact with you through this forum.
I am glad to see that the forum is growing and that there are some activities going on.

I would inform you that I'm studying Mechatronics in the university, and we will design and build a mechatronic project in relation with our work (Nuclear research) (using mechanics, electronics, desinging using CATIA - DASSAULT SYSTEM, PLC...), and maybe I will need your help in electronics and Microcontroller programming.
